NOTES ON MCS RSS VERSION R04.00.00
The MCS Radio Service Software is being updated to R04.00.00.
This version is developed off the R03.10.00 release.
Below is a summary of the various MCS RSS enhancements and MCS
Radio feature support introduced in release R04.00.00 of the
MOTOROLA MCS RSS. Most of the new features allow the
programming of radio options. Therefore, the availability of
these options depends on the capability of the particular MCS
radio being programmed. Please consult the MCS RSS user manual
for a detailed description of the respective features.
MCS RSS R04.00.00 FEATURES:
--------------------------
-Automatic Power-Off
-Caller ID
-Conventional Voting Scan
-Echo Mute Timer
-MDC RAC
-MDC Remote Monitor
-MLU Operation for VRM100
-Mode Recall Buttons
-Mode Select Buttons
-Silent Emergency Alarm with Unmute
Enabling this option will cause the radio
to UNMUTE on the emergency talkgroup or
frequency even though SILENT emergency has
been selected.
-SmartZone Voice Channel Switching
-VHF 2.5 kHz Channel Spacing
KNOWN ISSUES WITH THIS RELEASE:
------------------------------
- When Cloning, the progress bar is displayed while the radio is
being programmed. However, when programming is complete, the
" Radio Successfully Programmed " status message is only displayed
for a very short time.
- For Other-Band Trunking (UHF, VHF) systems, it is possible to
have more than 380 channels described on the Channel Assignment
screen. It requires a relatively complicated process to get into
this state, but it is possible.
