I had the milti mix 4 for a small animation studio that I have at home, so I just bought this for use in a small video production studio at my day job and it really does the job. A 3-band EQ with sweepable parametric mids is provided on channels 1 and 2, with a standard 3-band EQ on channels 3 and 4, and 2-band EQ on channels 5 through 8.

I just bought an Alesis Multimix 8 USB FX to use with garageband 08 on mac. The Mac uses OS X 10.5.8 and fits all of the stated product specifications. The problem is that having set up the mixer in Audio MIDI setup and preferences in Garagband, the mixer does not seem to be synching properly with the mac, as it does not show 8 separate audio channels, only 2 channels (Left and Right stereo channels). This is the case in both garageband and Cubase LE, I have also tried the mixer with another mac using garageband 09 and had the same problem. I have spent a number of hours trying to find some advice on the internet and could not come across anything. Is there a way that I can get over these problems or is there a fault with the mixer?
